No Dog Left Behind

It’s not a congressional act—but it is a philosophy that gets my vote.
If you’re the kind of person who wants your dog right by your side, wherever life takes you, you’re in the right place.

Let’s be honest—dogs make everything better.
Walks in the woods. Weekends at the Whitewater Center. Hushpuppies at Hello, Sailor.
Life’s just more fun with your four-legged best friend...
(except maybe when they’re stealing your lunch or ignoring you in public).

In Loving Memory of Ramsey

Ramsey was the dog who changed everything.

He was wild. Stubborn. Destructive.
And completely unforgettable.

Training him wasn’t easy—but it opened my eyes to what’s possible when you truly understand your dog. Ramsey taught me how to speak a new language. One built on trust, communication, and mutual respect.

He’s the reason I became a trainer.
He’s the reason A Dog’s Life exists.

And he’s the reason I believe every dog deserves the chance to feel understood, trusted, and included—on every walk, every adventure, and every part of life.

Here’s to Ramsey—my original plus-one.

A Dog’s Life Was Born Back in 2010…

...after I left behind a career in veterinary medicine.

My lightbulb moment came during a training class with my own stubborn, destructive dog, Ramsey.

It felt like I was finally speaking his language—and for the first time, he felt understood.

That moment changed everything.

After a year-long internship, I joined one of Charlotte’s premier dog training facilities. I doubled down on education, traveled to seminars, and studied under some of the best in the industry.

Eventually, I created my own training process—one that’s helped hundreds of families live more adventurous, fulfilling lives with their dogs.

When I’m Not Training Dogs…

…I’m spending time with my family, Cedric and Delta.
They’re usually at my feet while I sip mocha lattes at Land of a Thousand Hills, perched on my paddleboard at the Whitewater Center, or beside me solving a stuffed West Paw puzzle packed with yogurt and blueberries.

We said goodbye to Ramsey in 2020, but his legacy is everywhere.

Thanks to him, I learned what’s truly possible: living a big, bold life with a pup at your side. Exploring Charlotte’s best dog-friendly spots. Feeling calm, confident, and connected. Enjoying life together—without second-guessing every walk or outing.

That’s the heart of A Dog’s Life.
A polite plus-one who happens to have four paws—and always has your back.
